“Trust the Lord, and do good things. Live in the land, and practice being faithful.” ~Psalm 37:3 GNT
One thing that we cannot escape from as we read the Bible is that when it comes to TRUST which we are called to do a God's people... that OBEDIENCE is the FRUIT of our TRUST.
The simple REALITY is this... and that is... TRUST and OBEDIENCE are intrinsically linked together from Genesis to Revelation.
OBEDIENCE... living out our FAITH... DOING the things that we are commanded and commissioned to do is PROOF POSITIVE of our TRUST factor. Little TRUST requires little OBEDIENCE... however a DEEP TRUST requires a DEEP seated OBEDIENCE that often leads us down paths that we might otherwise choose to ignore or turn away from.
The REALITY is…God desires to ENGAGE us in His plans and purposes for our lives and the lives of those around us. God wants us to be part of His overall plans for our world as His people… BUT in order for Him to do that we need to be FAITHFUL to TRUST that His purposes are the best for us… and for those around us.
As the old hymn written by Daniel B. Towner (1850 -1919) “TRUST and OBEY” goes...
"Trust and obey for there is no better way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey!"
TRUSTING in Him… and SEEKING to OBEY…

P.S. Here is the short story version of the writing of the hymn “Trust and Obey”
“In 1886 Daniel B. Towner, director of the music department at the Moody Bible Institute, was leading the music for evangelist Dwight L. Moody’s series of meetings in Brockton, Massachusetts. A young man rose to give a testimony, saying, “I am not quite sure but I am going to trust and obey.” Towner was so intrigued by the young man’s simple testimony that he jotted the statement down and this basic testimony eventually formed the chorus for one of the world’s most cherished hymns.”
