"The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but the words of the godly save lives." ~Proverbs 12:6

"Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards." ~Proverbs 12:14

"Some people make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise bring healing."
~Proverbs 12:18

"Truthful words stand the test of time, but lies are soon exposed." ~Proverbs 12:19

"The LORD detests lying lips, but he delights in those who tell the truth." ~Proverbs 12:22

"The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray." ~Proverbs 12:26

"Those who control their tongue will have a long life; opening your mouth can ruin everything." ~Proverbs 13:3

It amazes me as I read through my chronological Bible readings how much the book of Proverbs has to say about our words! Our words bring life or they bring misery! Our words lift up or destroy! Our words build up or tear down!

Just check out the list from the verses above:

Words destroy or rescue!
Words belittle or quiet!
Words tell secrets or keep a confidence!
Words ambush or save!
Words trap or rescue!
Words bring benefits!
Words cut down or bring healing!
Words get exposed or the stand the test of time!
Words lie or reveal truth!
Words lead astray or give good advice!
Words can ruin everything or lead to long life!

Quite the list eh! Our words have power! Our words carry significant weight! Our words can either bring life or destroy!

The choice is ours!
